He joined Sánchez Devanny in 2007 as part of the Tax practice group. Before joining Sánchez Devanny, he was an associate in a well-known Mexican law firm. Prior to that, he was a legal trainee at a financial company. His practice in Sánchez Devanny focuses on tax consulting and litigation, including national and international tax matters. He has experience advising on domestic and cross-border matters such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, spin-offs, due diligence reports, transfer pricing rules, imports and exports, permanent establishment, taxation for maquila companies and application of safe harbor rules, assistance on tax refund procedures, general income tax and VAT advice, as well as application of treaties for the avoidance of double taxation.

He also provides general advice on taxation to non-profit charitable organizations. He also has extensive experience in the negotiation of investment and tax incentives with local and federal governments, including tax exemptions, cash grants, training programs and scholarships for employees, as well as incentives granted by CONACYT for technology R&D and by PROSOFT for the IT sector. His experience in defense and litigation matters comprises assistance in audits such as domicile visits, cabinet reviews, transfer pricing audits, tax refund request reviews and electronic audits performed by tax authorities. He has also filed several Constitutional, tax and social security litigation procedures with local and federal Mexican courts.
