Pedro Morales is one of the most renown environmental attorneys in Mexico, with over twenty years of experience. His practice has focused on environmental and climate change, as well as operational health and safety (OHS), real estate and sanitary law matters.

Prior to joining GLZ Abogados, he worked as a member of the environmental and climate change practice groups in two international law firms, as well as in the Federal Ministries of Health (Secretaría de Salud) and of Environment, Natural Resources and Fisheries (Secretaría de Medio Ambiente, Recursos Naturales y Pesca).

He has also been an academic in Mexico and abroad. Mr. Morales has significant experience in the development and supervision of real estate, tourism, industry, energy and mining projects; performing environmental audits; negotiating with authorities and local communities; and securing environmental and health permits, as well as participating in numerous mergers and acquisitions, attending to all environmental and real estate aspects of the same and participating in the negotiation and drafting of the related transactional documents.

His expertise also includes administrative litigation in matters involving environmental, OHS and health authorities. In the past years he has also provided lobbying services for the private sector or national and regional industry associations, with regard to environmental bills (such as the General Law on Climate Change) and regulatory drafts (such as the environmental land use plan for the coast of Jalisco). His practice includes providing advice regarding climate change matters, including preparing proposals for regulatory changes, both for private and public institutions, and drafting and negotiating emissions reduction purchase agreements (ERPAs). In doing so, he has provided assistance to national and international governments and institutions.
